Network engineer and builder. Jake has delivered network activation, assurance and optimisation on networks run by Telstra, Optus, TPG, AAPT, Vocus and nbn, and led construction on the nbn with a team of more than 75 across three states. He has built internet providers since 2019, grew the first until it was acquired in 2020, and founded the carrier whose assets now sit inside Hypernet. Trenches, splices and routing tables since the early 2010s; the aim is one of Australia's most reliable carriers, which is why Hypernet stopped reselling the nbn. MBA.

A network we own, built to keep.
Hypernet owns and operates fibre into Sydney apartment buildings and the business precincts of four CBDs, on a core of its own. Growth is funded by investors and lenders who want to own infrastructure rather than trade it. This page is the public summary; the deal room holds the detail.
- Carrier licence held since, now being migrated into the Hypernet Group
- 2023
- Dwellings passed by our fibre in Rhodes
- 6,000
- CBDs with enterprise services: Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne
- 4
Facts as at October 2026. Figures that move, such as services, revenue and route length, are reported in the deal room with their date and source.
Own the last mile, serve it well, keep it.
Fibre inside a building is a long-life asset with one owner. Hypernet builds and owns the access network and the core, and leases backhaul rather than digging it, so capital goes where the margin is.
Flat-price residential plans in apartment buildings, and 36-month business and enterprise contracts in the CBDs, carried on the same core and run by the same team.
The plan is to own, operate and maintain the network for the foreseeable future, funded by capital and debt raised to build and run it. Building to sell is not the plan.
Built, licensed and in service.
Not a plan. The network, the licence, the core and the systems are in place and carrying customers.
Carrier licence 605 held since 2023, now being migrated into the Hypernet Group. Hypernet acquired the network assets in October 2026. Interception and data retention plans approved by the Communications Access Coordinator.
Dual routers, our own autonomous system and IPv4 and IPv6 allocations held directly with APNIC, and fibre assets across Sydney Metro, South West, Eastern and Western Sydney.
About 6,000 dwellings passed in Rhodes, buildings connected one riser at a time, and backhaul routes into Parramatta, Pyrmont, Wolli Creek and Macquarie Park under way.
Provisioning, the customer portal and API, the status page, network records and GIS, built over four years and now running on Hypernet alone.
The founder and the team.
Riser surveys, splicing, building activations and the handover to support. The people who have been in your comms room.
Routing, addressing, monitoring and the monthly report. The people who answer the technical questions in a tender.
The platform behind quoting, activation and the status page, built in-house over four years.
